Christy UffelmanGroup Coaching, Facilitation and Speaking Experience

Christy has facilitated peer learning and coached leaders for nearly 15 years, helping them align talent strategy with business strategy. Christy launched the east coast office of Align Leadership in 2013 centering on women’s leadership development and Millennial/Gen X initiatives – helping organizations like FedEx Ground, PNC Bank, and CONSOL Energy engage and develop their emerging talent pipeline. On the cusp of the Millennial generation herself, Christy brings credibility and passion to organizations that want to better understand and leverage their young talent.

Christy’s work with cohort-based learning led to the development of PEER Technology®. This innovative leadership development experience captured the attention of Fortune 500 companies and is being used in Hi-Potential, Diversity, and Technical Engineering Rotation programs. PEER Technology® was deployed to create a cohort of Energy HR professionals when Align partnered with the Allegheny Conference on Community Development to create GRID in 2014. In 2017, Christy launched the EDGE Experience, an annual women’s leadership development program targeting mid-career leaders with the Pittsburgh Technology Council. Christy also expanded her training program to include coed and male cohorts with an intent to develop the individuals personally and professionally, and to become more inclusive leaders.

Christy is a sought after national speaker in the field of Millennial development and Women’s Leadership whose speeches have been quoted in the scholarly book When Millennials Rule: The Reshaping of America. Her Millennial development and her work to ignite and inspire women in male-dominated industries have provided a platform for speaking in various venues and spawned several research projects including Women Leaders across Generations. Her creativity in designing these programs and founding PEER Technology® led to the honors of being the ATHENA Young Professional Recipient and the YWCA Young Leader of the Year in 2012 and a Woman of Distinction in 2014. In 2016, Christy was recognized by Smart Business Magazine as one of Pittsburgh’s “50 Smartest Executives”, received the inaugural Spirit of Enterprise Young Professional of the Year award from Junior Achievement and was identified by Pittsburgh Magazine and PUMP as a 40 Under 40 Honoree for being an individual whose creativity, vision and passion enrich the Pittsburgh region.

Business/Organizational Leadership Experience

Christy joined Mascaro Construction Company in 2007 as a Vice President and as an internal organization development strategist for workforce planning and integrated talent management. At Mascaro, Christy worked alongside the CEO to engage the organization in the launch of multiple successful mentoring and coaching programs focused on developing current executives and emerging leaders. The organization’s innovative and strategic talent management initiatives became the foundation of an intentional culture shift for the company, which was recognized nationally and regionally both inside and outside the construction industry. Before Mascaro, Christy owned the executive coaching firm Red Zebra Consulting. With both Red Zebra and Mascaro, Christy shared her expertise and passion for developing emotional intelligence with executives and their teams, challenging them to be intentional in their leadership choices and strategic in their corporate talent management.

A TED Speaker and NPR Millennial resource, Christy’s extensive experience led to her being asked to serve as a corporate director for Eat’n Park, a regional hospitality private company. She is recognized by The Huffington Post as a Fierce Woman and is both a board certified ontological coach from Newfield and a certified Master Human Capital Strategist from the Human Capital Institute. Christy gives back to her community by serving as the Chair of 2020 Women on Boards, a national nonprofit committed to increasing the percentage of female talent on Fortune 1000 boards of directors. Through 2020 WOB, Christy helps to build the skills of C-Suite women in preparation of for-profit board service.
