Group Coaching, Facilitation and Speaking Experience
Christy Uffelman has facilitated peer learning and coached leaders for more than 15 years, helping them align talent strategy with business strategy. Christy launched the east coast office of Align Leadership in 2013 and current serves as President. Her work is focused on women’s leadership development and Millennial/Gen Z initiatives. These efforts assist organizations like FedEx Ground, Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, CNX Gas, DPR Construction and PNC Bank, who are engaged in retaining and developing their emerging talent pipeline. Additionally, she facilitates all-male cohorts with the purpose of developing more inclusive leaders at work and at home.
Christy’s work with cohort-based learning led to the development of the PEER Technology® Platform. This innovative learning process is leveraged to facilitate knowledge transfer by both large, national organizations, and regionally, in the EDGE Experience, an annual virtual women’s development program targeting mid-career leaders with the Pittsburgh Technology Council.
A sought after national speaker in the field of Millennial development and Women’s Leadership,,Christy was quoted in the scholarly book When Millennials Rule: The Reshaping of America. Her passion for Millennial development and her work to ignite and motivate women in male-dominated industries, has inspired several research projects including the 2015 white paper, Women Leaders across Generations. Christy was honored to be the 2018 keynote for Harvard Medical School’s annual Women’s Leadership Conference.
Christy was awarded the ATHENA Young Professional Recipient and the YWCA Young Leader of the Year in 2012 and a Woman of Distinction in 2014. In 2016, Christy was recognized by Smart Business Magazine as one of Pittsburgh’s “50 Smartest Executives”, received the inaugural Spirit of Enterprise Young Professional of the Year award from Junior Achievement and was identified by Pittsburgh Magazine as a 40 Under 40 Honoree.
Business/Organizational Leadership Experience
Christy joined Mascaro Construction Company in 2007 as the Director of Organization Development and was promoted to Vice President within her first two years with the company. She served as an internal organization development strategist for workforce planning and integrated talent management. At Mascaro, she worked alongside the CEO to engage the organization in the launch of multiple successful mentoring and coaching programs focused on developing current executives and emerging leaders. The organization’s innovative and strategic talent management initiatives became the foundation of an intentional culture shift for the company, which was recognized nationally and regionally both inside and outside the construction industry.
An advisor known for asking questions that challenge the status quo, Christy serves as a director for both profit and not for profit organizations. She is currently a corporate director of Eat’n’Park Hospitality Group, a private hospitality company, where her history of successful industry disruption brings credibility and results to better retain and promote not only young, diverse talent but to also engage Millennial/GenZ consumers.
Before Mascaro, Christy worked for Johnson & Johnson and Bayer. In all her roles, and throughout her successful career, Christy shared her expertise and passion for developing capacity with leaders and their teams, challenging them to be intentional in their leadership choices and strategic in their human capital management.
Education and Training
A TED Speaker and NPR Millennial resource, Christy’s is recognized by The Huffington Post as a Fierce Woman and is both a board certified ontological coach from Newfield and a certified Master Human Capital Strategist from the Human Capital Institute. Christy gives back to her community by serving as the Chair of 2020 Women on Boards, a national nonprofit committed to increasing the percentage of female talent on Fortune 1000 boards of directors. Through 2020 WOB, helps to build the skills of C-Suite women in preparation of for-profit board service.
Christy is also a board member for the Pittsburgh Three Rivers chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, serves on the Executive Team for the United Way Women’s Leadership Council, the Allegheny Conference on Community Development’s ATHENA Host Committee, and is a Girl Scout leader to her daughter’s troop. A graduate of Duquesne University with a B.A. in both Psychology and Corporate Communication, Christy lives in Mt. Lebanon, PA with her husband, Kevin, and daughter, Elaina
